According to an AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) Survey, more than a quarter of workers aged 45-64 have postponed plans for retirement because of the recent stock and real estate market declines. The more time they can postpone the inevitable of having to pull money out of their retirement savings, the better.

It is prudent to be concerned about your retirement savings, what with rising health costs, and the threat of the Social Security fund being bone-dry by 2041 (if not before).

Your retirement savings plan could be turned around though, if you were earning 6%-8% on your money, as opposed to 3%; where you are destined to run out of funds, and quickly. But where to find a rate of return in the 6% and above range, that is safe, and dependable? And, be disciplined enough to let the money grow, and contribute regularly.

Many of us will have to work longer than we expected to; save more money, and sadly, expect less from the "system." Re-assess your retirement savings plan. Consider how you might CREATE and GENERATE wealth. Get ahead in the game, don't let the game get ahead of you!
